About Me

I am a PhD student in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo, advised by Prof. Kaan Inal. My research is supported by General Motors Canada.

My work sits at the intersection of deep learning and computational mechanics. I trained and study Deep Learning approaches to understand complex material systems and accelerate simulations involving them.

Previously, I completed my BASc. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo.

Research Interests

  • Deep Learning Surrogate Models — Using advanced neural network architectures to replace computationally expensive material models.
  • ML Deployment — Once a model is built, it needs to run somewhere, either locally, on GPU cluster, or sometimes as part of a more complex simulation system. I develop methods of doing the latter with fewer headaches.
